Sam was the one who initially reached out to me on Instagram looking to book a session for him and his girlfriend, Elizabeth. They are from the D.C. area and were traveling to Raleigh for the weekend to visit and they wanted professional photos taken while they were here. I low key thought this was going to turn into some surprise proposal because 9 times out of 10 the girl is usually the one to reach out about photos. I was wrong... turns out it was Elizabeth's birthday so he booked the session for her - how freakin' sweet!
Once Sam and Elizabeth got familiar with the city we decided to have the session in the streets of downtown Raleigh. We started at Barcelona wine bar and used the exposed brick as a beautiful backdrop. We crossed the street from there and got some shots with the massive 'LOVE RULES' neon sign that's hanging near Union Station. Then I menionted there was a neon 'Raleigh' sign in that actual station I thought would be awesome to take some with and it did not disappoint. They were the definition of "go with the flow" like seriously were down for anything and everything I suggested! For example, I asked them if they'd want to have part of their session at an outside brewery. They said yes, of course so we walked up the street to Crank Arm and ordered ourselves a nice pint. We even took a break from taking photos at the brewery and just chatted like old friends. They were seriously such awesome people to hang out with and it made me appreciate this job because I love being able to meet and connect with new people. Overall, it was such a fun session and could have hung out with Sam and Elizabeth all night if they let me - LOL!
